A. Criteria (equally weighted):
(i) Quality of the idea (includes creativity and originality);
(ii) Quality of user experience (includes design, graphics, typography, and visual aesthetic);
(iii) Potential impact (includes the potential impact on student engagement, performance, and assessment); and
(iv) Feasibility of use (includes teacher assessment of the feasibility and appeal of using or piloting the app).
B. The five (5) finalist Contestants, excluding the potential winners of the Best Instructional App, Best Instructional App – Second Place, Best Administration/Engagement App, and Best Administration/Engagement App – Second Place, whose Submissions earn the highest overall scores, regardless of Category, will become potential winners of the Honorable Mention Prizes identified below in Section 14.
C. Tie Breakers. In the event of a tie between two or more Submissions, the tied Submission with the highest score in the first criterion listed above shall be deemed the higher scoring Submission. In the event any ties remain, this process will be repeated by comparing the tied Submissions’ scores on the second, third, and fourth criterion listed above, respectively. If two or more Submissions are tied on all four criteria, the panel of Judges will vote on the tied submissions.
